I feel like the title says it all..So..yes, I've jumped on the bandwagon of 50 Shades of Grey...but oddly...I don't think that my reaction is what the author was going for. The back jacket says it's an "erotic novel", that it is....but deeper...it hits me in my minds eye...I can relate to Mr. Grey...on many levels....I however have a hard time relating Ms. Steele. I mean I can on some level...but mainly I have to be honest...it's Christian whom I truly understand. I get where Fifty is coming from..I guess I should admit that I am probably more than just 50 shades of fucked up...I'm probably like 50 squared!!
But I am shocked, and confused that I seem to feel this bond with this fictional basket case...what does that say about MY psyche?? I know that I've got issues, that my issues have issues...but how is it that this is so?? I cannot even put into words the thoughts that are racing through my head....part of me, the natural woman part, wants someone who could illicet those kinds of feelings and responses that this mythical character seems too. But, alas here I am in reality. And then, there is the other part of me...that understands the need for control in all things, and over all things/people in my life...I realize that perhaps Mr. Grey and myself are not all that different, although I am sure we wouldn't get along..seeing as how we Both like the be the Dom!!
Although it would be interesting to see who would win out....
But I digress, perhaps it is time to adjust my meds, or maybe I should've just stayed away completely from this entire series....although I would like to add that I did think the "ending" was nice....I like that Mr. Grey got his happy ever after...Makes me hope and yes, even wish that I might get mine as well.
